Apple and Android Apps which run on tablet computers are ideal for Flight Simulators. They are able to mimic the 'glass cockpit' look and display the digital instruments. Other Apple Apps and Android Apps represent working analogue instruments. Moving map software and GPS are also available. These apps represent great value for money and a lot cheaper than buying the hardware equivalent of the instruments. Some are even available free of charge. With many real world aircraft being fitted with digital displays now this seems to be the way forward.
FlightMap for Android is a second screen navigation utility for Microsoft’s Flight Simulator X (FSX) and Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D (P3D). Use FlightMap to plot your simulated location and flight plans on Google Maps in real time.
