I had the pleasure of going to Flight Sim 2017 the other week, the first time I had been for a number of years. I was delighted that the event hadn’t lost any of its interest with the many exhibitors set out between the historic aircraft of Hangar One at the RAF Cosford Museum. The show is organised by Just Flight and supported by PC Pilot Magazine, and although I had to make a 360 mile round trip to take my place among the 2,000 odd visitors to try our hand at the latest sim tech, be enthused by numerous demonstrations, and informed by a variety of different presentations in the museum’s lecture theatre.
If I did have any minor niggles it was the lack of space around some of the exhibitor’s stalls which needed the visitor to be on their guard against knocking into or tripping over an aircraft or other exhibit. Maybe a slightly larger venue could be considered? And maybe, to suit those of us nestled in the south east of the country, alternating the exhibition’s venue with RAF Duxford Museum. But then again there were no real complaints and I certainly look forward to visiting Flight Sim 2018.
